Property Prices Ireland Privacy Policy

Property Prices Ireland is an iOS app that lets you search Ireland's Residential Property Price Register, save properties you're researching together with your own notes and comparable sales, and optionally watch areas for new sales with push alerts. This Privacy Policy explains what the app stores, what is sent to our servers, and the choices you have.

1. Summary

Property Prices Ireland does not require an account. Your own research — saved properties, asking and target prices, notes, statuses, and the comparable sales you attach to a property — is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to our servers. To provide watchlists and push alerts, the app registers a random, server-issued device identifier and, if you enable notifications, a push token; these are held on our server together with your subscription status if you purchase Property Pro. The app also sends first-party usage analytics, which you can turn off at any time. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking SDKs, and we do not sell your data.

2. What the App Stores on Your Device

Property Prices Ireland stores the following locally, in a database on your device:

  • Saved properties you add — address, county, eircode, and, if seeded from a register record, the linked sale
  • Asking price, target price, status (for example "interested"), your own notes, and any score you set for a saved property
  • Comparable sales you attach to a saved property, snapshotted from the Property Price Register (address, price, sale date, county, locality, property type and similar official fields), together with a match score/label and any note you add to a comparable

This information is never transmitted to our servers. It stays on your device and is removed if you delete the app.

3. No Account Required

The app does not use sign-up, login, email addresses or passwords. There is no user profile to create on our side. Identity, where the app needs it at all, is a random identifier issued by our server the first time you use a feature that needs it, described in the next section.

4. Information Sent to Our Servers

Because watchlists and push alerts require knowing which device to notify, and because purchases require checking your subscription status, the app registers with our server the first time you use a feature that needs it (saving a watchlist, enabling notifications, or checking Property Pro status). Registration creates a device record and returns a random device identifier, which the app then sends as a request header (X-Device-Id) on requests that need it. We store:

  • The device identifier, together with your platform (iOS) and app version
  • A push notification token, only if you enable notifications, so we can send you alerts about new sales in the areas you watch
  • An anonymous RevenueCat app user identifier, used to check your Property Pro subscription status (see Section 6)
  • The areas you choose to watch, and any label you give a watchlist, so we can match new register entries against them and send you alerts

We do not collect your name, email address, or precise location, and none of this is linked to a real-world identity. The device identifier is a random token generated by our server, not your Apple ID or any other account identifier.

5. Push Notifications

If you enable notifications, the app asks iOS for permission and registers for remote notifications; the resulting Apple Push Notification service (APNs) token is sent to our server as described above. When a new sale matches an area you're watching, our server generates a notification (a short title and body, and the watchlist it relates to) and sends it to Apple's APNs service for delivery to your device. If you disable notifications or the token becomes invalid, we stop sending to it.

6. Purchases and RevenueCat

Property Pro, an optional subscription, is purchased entirely through Apple's App Store using Apple In-App Purchase. We use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service, to validate purchases and keep track of your subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier and your purchase/receipt information; RevenueCat in turn notifies our server of purchase, renewal, cancellation and refund events for that identifier, which we store as your entitlement status. Neither we nor RevenueCat receive your Apple ID, name, email address or card details — Apple handles all payment processing directly. 7. Usage Analytics and How to Turn Them Off

The app sends first-party usage analytics to our own server — there is no third-party analytics SDK. These events record app usage such as that a search was run — never the words you searched for, which are not recorded or stored — sales viewed, properties saved, comparables added, watchlists created, and paywall/purchase steps, together with the device identifier, an app-session identifier, a timestamp and the app version. Analytics events never include your notes, asking/target prices, or any other information you type into a saved property — that stays on your device as described in Section 2. Analytics events are kept for approximately 90 days and are then automatically deleted from our server.

You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings → Privacy → "Share anonymous usage data". This setting is on by default. Turning it off stops any further events from being collected or sent, and discards anything already queued on your device that had not been sent yet.

8. The Property Price Register Data

Sale records shown in the app are drawn from the Residential Property Price Register, published by the Property Services Regulatory Authority (PSRA) as public sector information. This data describes property transactions, not app users, and is not personal data about you. Official fields (price, date, address, property type and similar) are stored and shown verbatim; other figures you see — area statistics, "newly added" labels, and comparable match scores — are calculated by the app from that public data using simple heuristics, and are research aids, not valuations. 9. What We Do Not Do

  • We do not require or collect accounts, sign-ups, or email addresses
  • The app includes no advertising SDKs and no third-party tracking or analytics SDKs
  • We do not share data with data brokers or use it for advertising
  • The app does not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt, because it does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites
  • We do not sell your data
  • Your saved properties, notes, asking/target prices and comparables are never uploaded to our servers

10. Data Sharing

The only third parties that receive any information from the app are Apple (App Store purchases, and the Apple Push Notification service for alerts) and RevenueCat (purchase validation and subscription status, as described in Section 6). We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your data with anyone else. Our server and database run on Cloudflare (Workers and D1), and imported register data is stored in Cloudflare R2; the register data itself is public and does not include information about app users.

11. Data Retention and Deletion

Analytics events are automatically deleted from our server after approximately 90 days, as described in Section 7. Your device record, watchlists and push token are kept on our server for as long as you use the relevant features, so that alerts keep working; deleting a watchlist in the app removes it from your list immediately. Deleting the app removes everything stored locally on your device (Section 2), but does not, by itself, delete your device record or watchlists from our server. If you would like your server-side data (device record, watchlists, subscription-linked entitlement) deleted, use our contact page and we will action the request.

12. Children's Privacy

Property Prices Ireland is not directed at children and is not designed to collect personal information from them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can review the matter.

13. International Users (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA)

Because most of what you enter into the app — your saved properties, notes and comparables — is stored only on your device, you retain direct control over it and can remove it at any time by deleting the relevant items or the app itself; there is no remote copy for us to access or delete on your behalf. For the limited information that is processed on our servers (device identifier, watchlists, push token, and subscription status via RevenueCat and Apple), our legal basis is the necessity of that processing to provide the features you have chosen to use (alerts, subscription entitlement) and our legitimate interest in operating the service. 14. Terms of Use

Use of Property Prices Ireland is also governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement:

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
